Junior Designer 2020-2023
Start-Rite is well regarded for the brand’s approach to fit and performance of children’s shoes, focusing on nurturing growing feet. Through my time working as Junior Designer I developed my skills of product fit and product development, seeing the journey from design research, through initial design concepts to fully realised samples. I thoroughly enjoyed the approach of upholding the brand’s rich heritage while also continually evolving the design aesthetic to remain trend relevant.
As Junior Designer I contributed to 4 season collections, collaborations with like-minded brands and the expansion of the range into new product lines, all garnering great retail success.

From industry standard product spec CADS to graphic motifs and print design; I have honed my skills of illustrator and photoshop to present my designs in a clear and considered way.

I love interpreting the latest runway and emerging trends through a brand focused lens. For Start-Rite, colour palette and season moods was a powerful way to reflect transpiring trends on the season.

Developments to ensure the best fit and performance were of the upmost importance. Therefore concise and detailed orietntedproduct specificton documents were of paramount importance, a skill I grew and masteed during my time working with the brand.

CAVAS PROJECTS
The Brief: Design a new upper embellishment for a fun casual trainer.
I approached this brief with a modernised take on Start-Rite’s heritage ‘twins pathway’ branding. I wanted to both pay homage to the brands rich history while still creating a fresh and skate inspired trainer design. The ‘Enigma’ trainer has continued to perform since it’s introduction in SS23…
